We are excited to kick-off the 2nd Annual Freedom 5K Fun/Walk.

This year will feature some changes from last year, starting with a new date and new location!

The race will take place on Saturday, September 19 at ONE DAYTONA. Runners and walkers will get underway starting in Victory Circle and follow the course that will lead them across the street to run/walk beside the iconic Daytona International Speedway before heading back to the finish line at ONE DAYTONA. Please note the running/walking paths do NOT take you inside the speedway or on the track.

PTS is a serious matter affecting a significant number of our nation’s veterans. While there is no cure for PTS, there are resources available to assist those diagnosed with it, one of them being pet therapy.

We recognize there are a number of groups helping to tackle this very important problem, however today we would like to shine a light on one particular non-profit group who is taking on this vital issue one service dog at a time.

Operation Freedom Dogs, based in Flintstone, GA, is a 501c3 non-profit organization intensely focused on providing an avenue for combat veterans with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) to gain a Service Dog free of charge while reconnecting to the society they fought for.

Here at Freedom 5K Inc., our focus is raising awareness and making a positive difference in the lives of our military personnel, veterans, and first responders.

We are hoping to make another positive change starting today as we launch our next charity campaign in which all proceeds raised will benefit the Operational Freedom Dogs organization.

Starting today and thru August 31, accept the “fun-challenge” and donate $1.00 for this great cause. To help keep the challenge alive please we are asking individuals to share this message on their social media pages and challenge your friends and family. The 2019 Inaugural Freedom 5K Fun Run/Walk is in the books.  And, what an amazing day it was.  Many thanks to all who came, ran, walked, and volunteered for this amazing event!  We would like to give another shout out to all of our generous community sponsors.  Without you this event couldn’t have taken place.  Boat and Yacht Masters of Florida, The Steeler Store, Daytona International Speedway, Politis & Matovina, Barnes, McDonnell & Parsons Pediatric Dentistry, The Gourmet Kitchen, FOE #4435, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Walmart and Einstein Bagels.

On Saturday, April 27th, Freedom 5Ks founder, Tyler Lewis was honored to present a check in the amount of $3,120 to National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum’s Trident House Charities Program.  All monies donated were proceeds from the 5K event.
